Overview & Highlights

Biang Biang Noodles is a standout destination for lovers of authentic Chinese cuisine nestled in the heart of Leipzig at Zschochersche Str. 82b. Specializing in traditional Shaanxi-style noodles, this restaurant delivers rich, hearty flavors that vividly transport you to the vibrant streets of northwest China. From the moment you step inside, the warm, inviting atmosphere—a harmonious blend of modern decor and traditional accents—sets the perfect stage for a comforting, flavorful meal.

The star of the menu is undoubtedly the handcrafted Biang Biang noodles, known for their satisfyingly thick, chewy texture and draped generously in delectable sauces. Diners rave about the sauces’ complexity and balance—a perfect dance between savory richness and gentle spice—making each bite a memorable experience. For meat lovers, the tender pork ribs and the incredibly flavorful broth offer a comforting depth that complements the noodles splendidly. Vegetarians are equally well catered to, with dishes featuring vegetarian minced meat paired with aubergine, all enveloped in a mild yet enticing sauce that bursts with umami.

Beyond the noodles, the dumplings, often praised as some of the best (or even the best) in Leipzig, offer an exquisite start or accompaniment to your meal. The gyoza's delicate folds hold juicy, expertly seasoned fillings that explode with warmth and freshness with every bite.

One of the unique delights here is the personalized touch from the owners, who embody genuine hospitality and make every guest feel welcome. This warmth extends to the lively yet cozy interior, where ample indoor and outdoor seating allows you to enjoy your meal comfortably, though some suggest the alfresco area could benefit from a small upgrade to fully match the quality inside.

While Biang Biang Noodles operates on a self-service model, this does not detract from the overall experience—in fact, it encourages a relaxed, casual vibe perfect for a quick family dinner or an intimate meal with friends. The ease of ordering directly at the counter is balanced by the attentive and friendly staff who are always ready with a smile and helpful recommendations.

One cannot help but feel a genuine affection for this gem. It’s a rare place where the authenticity of Chinese cuisine merges seamlessly with local Leipzig charm, and every element from the food to the ambiance is thoughtfully crafted to give you more than just a meal—it's a memorable culinary journey. Whether you are a noodle aficionado or a curious diner seeking fresh flavors, Biang Biang Noodles promises a rewarding visit that will beckon you back for more.

Went here tonight for a quick dinner with my family with kids. Both of the owners were so nice and warm. The flavour of the noodles were fairly authentic. I would definitely go back again.

Fantastic, fresh noodles, and the pork rib was so tender. The broth was also incredibly flavourful, but not very spicy unless you really ask them to dial it up. Highly recommend this place if you like big noodles.

Looks lika a typical Chinese food outlet but the food really was very good. One of the best dumplings (gyoza) I‘ve had in Leipzig. Eveb if the menu has only a few items those were all really good. The outside seating is nice but could be upgraded. The staff was very nice and welcoming. You have to order at the counter!

I was very excited to visit this place as I had similar dishes in a different city and I was hoping to find the same joy in eating the noodles, but something was missing.. The options are great as it offers veg. & non veg options, starters and drinks. The location is easy to access and the space is huge with indoors and outdoors sitting areas, wonderfully decorated and modern. What made me give this place just 4 stars: - the noodles sauce was very oily - I was hoping it would be creamier, a bit more dense so it really sticks to the noodles - but it was not the case. - the noodles are very tasty and have a great texture, however they are extremely wide and long which makes eating very complicated. I saw that at ALL tables people would end up using fork and knife to really be able to eat, otherwise, with sticks, it’s almost impossible. - I had the Shiitake&Tofu Biang Biang noodles and here I found the tofu very watery and that means when trying to absorb the sauce, it wasn’t really happening, as the tofu was too soft and saturated in water. I had in another place a tofu that is firmer and that gave the great chewiness and allowed the tofu to absorb the sauce of the dish. The shiitake were the small ones - tasty, but a bigger shiitake would give the dish the texture needed for a great bite and the ability to soak it in the sauce. - the raw red onion was not something I would have expected in this dish. I would take it out. - when I looked at photos of the dishes online I saw that peanuts were added for the crunch, bun none of the noodles we ordered had them.. preparing the same dish differently every day makes customers wonder if they are returning for the same dish or not.. Overall I see a big potential for this place and I hope they will make some adjustments and be more consistent with their dishes.

Really tasty Biang Biang noodles. The sauce was amazing! I took the vegetarian minced meat and aubergine with the mild sauce. Can't wait to go again!
